How to get audio output from Mercedes NTG5.0 Linux screen?

For the Linux screen purchased for the Mercedes-Benz NTG5.0 system, this document provides two audio solutions for the scenario where the device is not equipped with a USBAUX box as standard, guiding users to complete the audio function configuration and ensuring an in-car audio experience.

2. Audio Output Solutions

Option 1: Factory Bluetooth audio (Recommended; better sound quality)

1.Enable the vehicle's Bluetooth channel on the in-car system:

On the Linux main screen, navigate to setup-system, locate the Use Car's BT Channeloption, and enable it.

2.Connect your phone to the car's built-in Bluetooth

Switch to the Mercedes-Benz OEM interface and use your phone to pair with the vehicle's Bluetooth system.

3.Connect a Linux screen via Bluetooth

Switch back to the Linux system interface and use your phone to pair and connect to the Linux screen via Bluetooth.

4.Automatically connect CarPlay to the audio output

Once the Bluetooth connection is established, the system will automatically initiate the CarPlay connection. At this point, music playback will function normally, and audio will be output through the vehicles Bluetooth system.

Option 2: USBAUX Box Audio (Alternative Option)

1. Equipment Purchase

If you need to use a wired audio solution, you can purchase the dedicated USBAUX box from the PEMP official store.

2.Hardware Connections

2.1.Connect the Audio OUT port to the USBAUX box

2.2.Connect the USB port on the USBAUX box to the USB port inside the car's armrest compartment

3.Linux Screen Configuration

Switch to the Mercedes-Benz OEM interface and locate the USBAUX device in the device

list

3.1 Press and hold the star button on the knob

3.2 Move the USBAUX device to the second position, immediately after "Navigation".

3. Important Notes

1.Option 1 is the officially recommended solution, offering a more stable connection and superior audio quality without the need to purchase additional hardware.

2.When using Option 2, please ensure that the USBAUX box, cable harness, and connector are securely connected to prevent audio loss due to poor contact.

3.Please make sure that both your phone's Bluetooth and the car's Bluetooth are set to discoverableto prevent pairing failures.
