1.Problem Description
Some BMW owners have found that after installing Linux Screen, certain vehicle functions and data are no longer available; typically, vehicle information such as fuel consumption, trip computer data, and mileage cannot be displayed or read properly.
2.Analysis of the Causes
This issue is most likely caused by a missed connection in the fiber optic cable:
Your vehicle is equipped with a factory-installed fiber optic cable used to transmit core vehicle data.
If the fiber optic cable is not properly connected to the ISO harness for the Linux display during installation, it will disrupt the vehicle’s data transmission link, resulting in the loss of functional information.
3.Solution
Step 1: Locate the optical fiber cable
On the vehicle’s OEM ISO harness, locate the OEM optical fiber cable (typically a 2-pin green optical fiber cable).
Step 2: Complete the Fiber Optic Connection
Reconnect the fiber optic cable to the corresponding interface on the ISO harness for the Linux display.
Step 3: Verify Functionality
Start the vehicle and enter either the original OEM interface or the Linux interface.
Check whether information such as fuel consumption, trip computer data, and mileage is displayed correctly.
If the data has not yet been recovered, please contact the PEMP after-sales team for technical support.
