When considering upgrading the screen on your BMW or Mercedes-Benz, you have several options: new, refurbished, or used. With growing environmental awareness, many people are willing to try refurbished products. For example, used cars now account for 50% of all car sales. Before we get into that, let's compare the following types of products.

A. Comparison of New, Refurbished, and Used Products

1. New Products

These are brand-new items produced by the brand. Apart from standard factory testing, you are the first user. They come with brand-new packaging and after-sales service. The selling price follows the brand’s standard price.

2. Refurbished Products

This refers to items that the brand refurbishes according to the quality-inspection standards for new products, then strictly tests before a second sale. A certain period of after-sales warranty is provided. The selling price is slightly lower than that of new products.

3. Used Products

These are items that have been used by others—possibly second-hand, third-hand, or even more. Their condition and price vary widely. Whether you pick a good one depends on luck. They are generally sold without warranty. The selling price may be 20%–50% of the price of a new product.

B. Today’s Focus: the Brand’s Refurbished Products

The source of a refurbished product is very important. If it comes from an original customer who made a wrong purchase or felt the product did not meet expectations and returned it, its quality is almost the same as that of a new product. The outer packaging may have been damaged or become worn during round-trip shipping, but the product inside is intact. For automotive electronics, there may also be installation marks, but these will definitely not affect the product’s operation.

Customers care a great deal about after-sales support. If it is a factory-certified new product, there will be a certain warranty period, such as 3–6 months or even longer. Within this period, if any non-human-caused fault occurs, the brand will provide free service—for example, free repair or replacement with a product of the same model.

All of these products come from Amazon returns. Amazon’s return window is one month, so these products were returned by customers within one month of sale. Most returns are due to purchasing mistakes; others are because the product did not meet the customer’s expectations; a very small number are due to product defects. For items with defects, we send them directly back to our factory in mainland China and do not include them among refurbished products. Therefore, none of PEMP’s refurbished products are repaired items. They all come from first-hand products and undergo no repairs; they are almost like new, and you can use them with confidence. The price is 70%–80% of the price of a new product.

Of course, PEMP’s refurbished products still come with a 6-month warranty after sale. During this period, if your item has any non-human-caused problem, we provide repair service. If it cannot be repaired within two weeks after we receive the item, we will replace it with the same model that works properly.
