1.Problem Description
A customer has inquired that when using CarPlay on a PEMP screen, the other party can hear their voice when answering a call, but they cannot hear the other party’s voice.
2.Causes and Solutions
This issue is typically caused by incorrect audio routing settings on the PEMP screen. Here are the two main causes and their solutions:
Reason 1: “Use Car's BT Channel” is enabled but not connected to the vehicle's OEM Bluetooth
Issue Description: If “Use Car's BT Channel” is checked in the screen settings but your phone is not connected to the vehicle's OEM Bluetooth, audio output will fail.
Solution:
Go to the settings menu on the PEMP screen.
Locate the “Use Car's BT Channel” option.
Turn this setting off.
Reason 2: The correct audio source has not been selected on the phone
Problem description: Call audio is not set to output to CarPlay on the phone.
Solution:
During a call, tap the “Audio” button on your iPhone.
Select “CarPlay” as the audio output device.
