“When using the AirPlay audio playback feature on the PEMP BMW EVO system-specific screen, do I need to purchase an AUX-to-USB adapter separately?”
2.Audio Compatibility Information
Vehicles equipped with the BMW EVO system typically use a USB port as the audio input, and the standard 3.5-mm AUX cable included with the screen is not compatible with this port.
The PEMP screen supports three audio output methods:
Factory Bluetooth (Best sound quality, recommended)
Connects via the vehicle’s native Bluetooth system, offering the best sound quality and supporting most features.
Note: This method cannot be used for AirPlay audio playback.
AUX-to-USB Wired Connection
Requires the purchase of an AUX to USB adapter. Use the adapter to connect the AUX cable to the car. This is the method for using AirPlay audio.
Built-in Bluetooth Transmitter
Use the screen’s built-in Bluetooth transmitter. (Rarely used)
3.Recommendations for Using AirPlay Audio
When you use the AirPlay feature, the vehicle’s built-in Bluetooth audio function will be disabled, and the vehicle will not produce any sound.
We recommend purchasing a PEMP AUX to USB adapter in advance to ensure normal audio playback when using AirPlay.
