1.Problem Description
Many customers ask:
"How do I determine which infotainment system my BMW has?"
2.System Version Identification Guide
The most reliable way to determine your BMW’s infotainment system is to check the iDrive interface. The vehicle’s model year should be used only as a reference; due to variations in model configurations and software updates, relying solely on the model year is not accurate. We recommend using the interface as your guide.
You can also send photos of your car’s model year, iDrive interface, and center console to PEMP’s after-sales team, and they will analyze which specific system your car is using.
PEMP products support the following iDrive systems:
CCC
CIC
NBT
iD5 EVO
iD6 EVO
3.Features of Each System Interface
CCC System:
The interface is rudimentary, with low resolution, text-heavy content, and basic graphics.
There are no color themes; the interface is mostly monochromatic or uses basic color schemes.
CIC System :
Full-color iDrive menu with basic 3D-style graphics.
The menu structure is clear, and the interface features a “collapsible” layout.
NBT System:
A classic 4-grid home screen layout with a dark blue/black theme.
Compared to CIC, the graphics are simpler and more modern.
iD5 EVO System:
An upgraded version of the 4-grid layout, featuring more vibrant colors and smoother animations.
iD6 EVO System :
The latest version of the classic 4-grid layout, featuring support for custom widgets.
The graphics are more refined, and the resolution is higher.
