iDrive is a control and communication system that BMW has introduced and used to this day since 2001.
The purpose of the iDrive system is to integrate all in-vehicle control functions into a single system. Depending on your vehicle model and year, the iDrive on-board computer may be of the CCC, CIC, NBT, or EVO type. To help you better select a suitable CarPlay large screen, we will introduce the basic methods for distinguishing these iDrive system types in the subsequent chapters.
There are two simple methods to help you distinguish between different iDrive systems.
1.By User Interface
Most iDrive systems have a specific interface, so you must also check the appearance of the menu, compare it with that of other iDrive systems, and then determine the iDrive version based on the production year.
2.By Production Year
Of course, this does not guarantee that you can determine your iDrive version with 100% accuracy, as production months may vary in certain countries/regions. However, it can at least give you a general idea of which iDrive system your BMW is likely equipped with.
