1.Overview

After installing the Mercedes-Benz Linux in-dash display, customers may notice that the vehicle’s original blue cables and some of the display’s accompanying cables are not connected. This document explains the purpose of these cables and clarifies whether they need to be connected.

2.Cable Explanations & Connection Requirements

1.Original blue cable

Purpose: This blue cable is the power supply cable for the factory-installed Mercedes-Benz center display.

Connection Requirements: No connection required.

The Linux screen is powered directly via the ISO harness, which has replaced the original power supply wiring.

Even if this cable is not connected, it will not affect the normal operation of the new screen.

Safety Tip: Please wrap the unconnected blue cable with electrical tape to prevent short circuits or abnormal noises inside the vehicle.

2.Cables included with the monitor

Purpose: These cables are designed for specific vehicle models or optional features.

Connection Requirements: No special handling is required under standard installation conditions.

For the vast majority of standard Mercedes-Benz models, simply follow the instructions in the video tutorial to install and fully operate the Linux screen.

These cables are intended only for specific configurations or additional features; if they remain unused, this is normal and will not affect core functions (such as navigation, CarPlay, audio, and rearview camera).

3.Operating Instructions

3.1 Do not force connections to unused cables: Forcing connections to unnecessary cables may cause system conflicts, short circuits, or even damage to the vehicle’s electrical system.

3.2 Cable Insulation: All unconnected factory cables or connections in the supplied cables must be wrapped with electrical tape to prevent electrical hazards or rattling noises in the interior.

3.3 Functionality Verification: After installation, please verify that the core functions are working properly. If you encounter any issues, please contact our after-sales team.
